Glaucoma, a blinding disease

Glaucoma is the major cause of preventable blindness in the world. In India, about 4-5 percent of population suffer from this blinding disease and 60 percent not aware of the disease

Certain pressure is maintained in each eye. If pressure rises, the field of vision gradually narrows and with in few years make the totally blind. The disease does not have severe symptoms except little tiredness, discomfort, watering,early presbyopia etc and hence remain undetected. Drugs control pressure but does not cure.Surgery can cure.
